THE CORONAS’ LEAD singer Danny O’Reilly helped inspire his London GAA side to victory in the intermediate final last Sunday.
O’Reilly scored 1-2 from wing-forward as North London Shamrocks claimed their first ever championship title in style by defeating St. Brendan’s by 3-12 to 0-09 in Ruislip on Sunday.
Shamrocks, who are celebrating their tenth anniversary, sealed their return to senior football next year with the win.
While his fellow bandmates watched on, O’Reilly displayed the sort of skill that saw him represent Dublin’s minor footballers in 2003. He was part of the Dublin minor side who were beaten by Laois in the All-Ireland final replay in Croke Park that year.
The Coronas made it a celebration worth remembering by playing a short gig for the assembled crowd later that evening.
