CORK ARE ON the look out for new U21 and intermediate hurling managers for the 2015 season.

It was announced at a county board meeting last night that U21 boss Pat Kenneally and intermediate boss Liam Hayes were stepping down from their positions.

Kenneally guided Cork to the Bord Gáis Energy Munster U21 hurling final this year but they were heavily beaten in Ennis in July by a powerful Clare team who went on to claim All-Ireland honours. The loss sees Cork’s wait for provincial U21 honours go on as they must go back to 2007 for their last Munster title at this grade.

Hayes steered Cork to the All-Ireland intermediate triumph against Wexford by 2-18 to 2-12 in Nowlan Park in August.

Cork are set to install a sub-committee to recommend their replacements.
