FOLLOWING CONFIRMATION OF John Miskella’s retirement yesterday, Cork have received further bad news with the announcement that Anthony Lynch is also set to call it a day.
During his career, the 34-year-old experienced the bittersweet feeling of appearing in three All-Ireland finals, and losing each one.
Nonetheless, he eventually got his hands on an All-Ireland winners medal, after he was an unused sub in Cork’s 2010 triumph.
He received two All Stars and featured in two International Rules series during his career, but suffered a succession of injuries that limited his involvement with the Cork side during the latter half of his career.
Tipperary did, however, receive good news this week, after it was announced that goalkeeper Brendan Cummins will continue his inter-county career for another year at least.
