Conor McGregor is getting six more RTÉ documentaries

The half-hour programmes will be aired from January.

RTÉ 2 WILL show six fly-on-the-wall documentaries about Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor in the New Year.

Following on from the success of ‘The Notorious’, which screened back in March, the makers began filming over the summer and will spend a total of six months with McGregor as he continues to climb the ranks in the featherweight division.

As had previously been promised, the 26-year-old brought the UFC back to Ireland in July and earned his third victory in the Octagon, over Brazilian Diego Brandao, in front of hometown fans at Dublin’s O2 Arena.

Ahead of next weekend’s bout against Dustin Poirier in Las Vegas, it has been confirmed that the six 24-minute programmes will be shown on RTÉ 2 in January.

The outspoken McGregor, who is currently in the US preparing for his upcoming fight, tweeted this morning:

“I am happy to announce I have finalised a deal with RTÉ to bring you a six-part series following my journey to the top.

As Executive Producer of this project, I look forward to following on from the success of ‘The Notorious’ documentary. We are currently halfway through filming.

“The crew have been with me since May in the build-up to UFC Dublin and are with me now in Las Vegas also. The show will air in January. Monday, primetime, on RTÉ 2.

“Bored housewives everywhere are now simply, just housewives. Yours sincerely, Mommies favourite, Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor.”
