Snaphot: Conor McGregor gets a gorilla tattoo across his chest

We’re not sure how we feel about taking selfies on the loo.

IRISH UFC STAR Conor McGregor is currently recovering from surgery but found time to get some new ink this week.

The Dublin featherweight, who won his first two fights in Octagon but tore anterior cruciate ligaments during the win over Max Holloway, is aiming to be ready for a comeback which is scheduled for Ireland next year.

As well as challenging Diego Sanchez to a match on Twitter yesterday, McGregor has gone out and got a nasty-looking gorilla – the symbol of his team SBG Ireland – tattooed right in the centre of his chest.

He tweeted this selfie… from the loo:

I honestly can’t tell if this guy is a legend and gas craic, or simply an arrogant tool

Yeah I really want to like him but seeing him on the late late fixing his suit jacket every second, I think I’ll decide after his next fight,

That’s the genius of remaining Notorious : )

‘ famous or well known, typically for some bad quality or deed ‘

arrogance is a must in an MMA fight. He ain’t hurting anyone and he gives us entertainment and a laugh and something to cheer for so I say more power to him. I don’t have to agree with everything he says or does I just want him to win in the cage spectacularly and make the world remember how much fighting spirit is in this nation. His brand of unapologetic self belief is antithetical to classical Irish under-doggery and a great shot in the arm for our sports mentality here. The way the Irish stepped up to the All Blacks on the weekend with no fear and a willingness to face down the paper odds with passion and confidence is similar to McGregor’s mindset and if you can ignore his harmless banter and slagging and posyuring and focus on his total confidence you will enjoy the Rise of McGregor more for it !

Overrated, overhyped and his career possibly over before it even got started. He will be on one of those z list celebrity shows soon.

He’s good craic but that tat is muck. Maybe it’ll look a bit better with some colour. Looking forward to watching him scrapping again. Always good to see an Irish victor.

Like him or not he knows what hes doing. He’s getting people talking about him which is what every fighter needs..publicity=more money and quicker roads to titles. Hes managed to bring MMA to the mainstream audience in Ireland. Hes had two fights in the UFC and hes potentially going to be headlining an event in the o2 next year, which is unheard of for any UFC fighter. If he keeps winning his pay packets are going to be increasing rapidly, the yanks love him too. I’ve never seen such publicity behind a UFC fighter after only two fights in the org.

He gets on my nerves sometimes in his interviews, but after following the UFC for years its fantastic to finally have some real Irish interest..hes talented, has serious potential and hes doing the country lroud with his performances in the cage.
