Conor McGregor does not 'deserve a lot of things he's gotten', taunts Cole Miller

The American says the only way the Irish fighter is similar to Ronda Rousey is that both have blonde hair.

COLE MILLER’S HAND injury kept him out of Conor McGregor triumphant UFC homecoming in Dublin last weekend but it has not precluded him from flapping his gums about the Irish featherweight.

Miller was a guest of Beatdown on Sherdog Radio Network this week and while he complimented McGregor’s technique, he was quick to share his belief that the Irishman has been hyped up far too much.

Miller remains outside the featherweight division’s top 15 after missing the McGregor bout [he was replaced by Diego Brandao] but feels the Dublin fighter does not warrant his top 10 placing or his September bout with sixth-ranked Dustin Poirier in Las Vegas.

He commented, “I thought he looked pretty solid. It’s pretty easy to look good when everything’s made for you to look good. He got to fight in his hometown with all those people there supporting him. He got a full camp of preparation when his opponent didn’t.”

Miller declared the ‘UFC brass’ are spoon-feeding opinions to commentators, about McGregor, to build up his name and brand. He added, ““I did see something where Dana said Conor reminds him of [women's bantamweight champion] Ronda Rousey. That’s a pretty bold statement. I told my brother they’re both blonde. That must be it.”

Miller stressed that the hometown factor that spurred McGregor, and his four SBG teammates, on in Dublin will be lacking in Las Vegas when he faces Poirier, a fighter who is ‘doing some real impressive things in the division’.

He said, “I think [Poirier is] ready for a Frankie Edgar or [Cub] Swanson or [Chad] Mendes. [UFC] is obviously trying to build the McGregor fight, and I don’t think [McGregor] deserves it, but I don’t think he deserves a lot of things he’s gotten.”

Meanwhile, Setanta Sports announced, this afternoon, that McGregor’s 27 September fight at the MGM Grand will be screened live on BT Sport. McGregor v Poirier is on the undercard of Jon ‘Bones’ Jones v Alexander Gustafsson.

Pearson and Moyes are the ones they should be going for. Experienced in the premiership and at getting the most from limited squads

Ya, get in an inexperienced foreign manager with no experience of the EPL or relegation battles. The club is in crisis, points total is already nearly fatal. Need a specialist in the Allerdyce/Pulis mould, unfortunately both are unavailable. Moyes is the right candidate, been there before with Everton, will keep things tight and stop shipping so many goals. And learn from previous appointments, and no long term contract.

newcastle and mcclaren, premiership experience stands for nothing, it’s all about getting the team to work as a team and playing for each other on the other hand look at bilic and the job he’s doing at westham, no premiership experience and they’re flying it.
