THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE of Connacht GAA was found to have links to Japanese pornography at the weekend.
Users of the site discovered the not safe for work images when browsing the fixtures section on Friday according to the Western People newspaper.
It was a busy weekend in Connacht with football finals in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon but how many visitors saw the images before they were removed is unclear.
As of this afternoon, the fixtures section of the site appears to have returned to normal:
Connacht Council secretary John Prenty told the Western People:
“It appears that when information about the Connacht Championships was put up it impacted on the site and other stuff appeared.
“We knew nothing about it until you told us. It was removed immediately.”
