Colts look for change of Luck as QB signs on to big-money deal

The 22-year-old Andrew Luck was drafted by the Colts with the number one pick in the 2012 NFL Draft after starring at college level for Stanford.

QUARTER-PACK Andrew Luck has signed a four-year deal with NFL franchise, the Indianapolis Colts.

The 22-year-old from Washington was drafted by the Colts with the number one pick in the 2012 NFL Draft after starring at college level for Stanford. And Luck committed his future to the Colts by officially signing the lengthy deal ahead of the new season.

The terms of the deal remained private but the signing of the two-time Heisman Trophy finalist is a big boost to Indianapolis, following the release of Peyton Manning.  Manning – a four-time NFL most valuable player winner – joined the Denver Broncos in March. Luck’s statistics last year were particularly impressive, throwing for 35 touchdowns and finishing with 3,170 yards passing for Stanford.

He also boasted an impressive 70 percent completion percentage. And he will need to make an immediate impact to help Indianapolis, who finished the 2011/12 season with a 2-14 win-loss record.

That came after nine successive years where they finished in the play-offs. Luck will join up with his Indianapolis teammates in a training camp next week. The news came just a day after the Washington Redskins secured the future of quarterback Robert Griffin III, who was the second pick in the draft behind Luck.
