Colm O'Neill set for comeback with Cork footballers

Ballyclough man has battled back to full fitness since rupturing his cruciate last March.

CORK FOOTBALLER COLM O’Neill will at last make his comeback from injury this weekend.

The Rebels face Clare in a McGrath Cup clash at Pairc Uí Rinn on Sunday (2pm).

O’Neill, of course, has endured a long road back to full fitness since he sustained a cruciate knee injury in a league with Galway last March.

The 2010 All-Ireland champions have endured a rash of similar injuries, with Ciarán Sheehan out for the time being with his own cruciate recuperation.

Manager Conor Counihan has named O’Neill – who plays his club football for Ballyclough -  at corner forward. Aidan O’Reilly, Micheál Ó Laoire, Liam Shorten and Seanie Cahalane are four new names in an unfamiliar looking Cork side.

Cork (SF v Clare): K O’Halloran; E Cotter, R Carey, K Harrington; C O’Driscoll, G Canty, A O’Reilly; J Fitzpatrick, M Ó Laoire; F Lynch, F Goold, L Shorten; C O’Neill, S Cahalane, K O’Sullivan.
