It might have been their first senior county title in 39 years, but Tempo Maguires were ‘mooted in the celebrations‘ after this comfortable 0-15 to 1-04 county final victory over Lisnaskea Emmets yesterday.
Seneschalstown and Donaghmore/Ashbourne sealed their places in the Meath SFC last four last night with respective wins over over Summerhill and Dunboyne respectively. Defending champions Summerhill were dumped out — 2-8 to 0-10 — thanks in no small part to goals from Ciaran Macken and the Royals’ talisman Joe Sheridan. Donaghmore/Ashbourne ran out 0-17 to 0-8 winners at Páirc Táilteann, meanwhile.
Clara booked their spot in the Offaly SFC decider in two week’s time with a semi-final victory yesterday. Ross Brady struck the goal as they edged Edenderry 1-13 to 2-7. They’ll now face Rhode in the final at O’Connor Park on 14 October after they saw off Tullamore on a scoreline of 0-17 to 2-7, with Niall McNamee hitting eight points.
Bryansford and Kilcoo will face off next weekend for a place in the county final after they both came through quarter-finals yesterday.
Kilcoo saw off Castlewellan 0-14 to 0-11 at Pairc Esler, while earlier — at the same venue — Conor Gribben struck the goal as Bryansford beat Rostrevor 1-10 to eight points. Longstone will face Mayobridge in the other semi-final.
