Hello and welcome along to this evening’s coverage of the Phase 3 hurling qualifier between Clare and Wexford. Who’s going to book their spot in the All-Ireland quarter-finals and who’s going to exit the 2013 championship? Throw in is at 5pm.

Here’s the Wexford team that’s named to start today. They’ve made four changes from the victory over Carlow last time out.

Keith Rossiter, Andrew Shore, David Redmond and Eoin Quigley all come into the team.

The players to make way are Michael O’Regan, Harry Kehoe, Shaun Murphy and Lee Chin.

Clare 1-2 Wexford 0-3: 14 mins – Clare have hit the net through Shane O’Donnell. Huge boost for them.

O’Donnell was a late inclusion to the Banner attack instead of Darach Honan. The Éire Óg clubman has showcased his goal threat since joining up with the senior side this year as he found the net against Cork in the league and against Waterford in the Munster quarter-final.

For a player that was in the minor ranks last year, O’Donnell has stepped up splendidly to senior level and looks a great asset in front of goal for Davy Fitzgerald’s side.

Clare 1-4 Wexford 0-3: 16 mins – Colin Ryan fires over a ’65 for Clare and then Tony Kelly taps over from play to send them four points clear.

That could have been a second goal for Clare before Tony Kelly pointed as Conor McGrath was close to finding the net before being crowded out by the Wexford rearguard.

Podge Doran had a fine chance to grab a goal in reply for Wexford but he failed to find the net.

What an incredible finish to this game. Jack Guiney did brilliantly to field a high ball, turned and despite being under defensive pressure, he fired the ball past Clare’s Patrick Kelly.

Clare looked like they had this game sewn up during the second-half as they lead by six points on a few occasions but Wexford hung in there. How important were Mark Fanning’s saves from Conor McGrath and Shane O’Donnell.

This is going to be a real test now for both teams given the warm weather in Thurles.
