THE MUNSTER COUNCIL have agreed to a request from Clare to defer the provincial senior club hurling semi-final until Sunday November 17th.
The decision means the Clare hurling semi-finals are now likely to be deferred from this weekend until the weekend of November 2nd-3rd.
And the Banner club hurling showpiece would then be free to take place on the weekend of November 9th-10th.
Clare’s county champions set to face either Sarsfields or Midleton, who contest the Cork senior hurling final on Sunday November 3rd, at the semi-final stage in Munster on Sunday November 17th.
The decision is good news for Clare club Clonlara who had sought to get their county semi-final put back a week as county defender Domhnall O’Donovan is unavailable this weekend due to work commitments.

Clonlara’s request had been supported by fellow semi-finalists Ballyea, who also have players currently involved with their sister club Clondegad in the Clare senior football championship.
Monday night’s Clare semi-final draw pitted the reigning champions Newmarket-on-Fergus against Ballyea in one last four clash while Clonlara will take on Sixmilebridge in the other tie.
Munster Council PRO Ed Donnelly expressed his satisfaction that they were in a position to accede to Clare’s request.
“There were concerns with the All-Ireland final going to a replay that we could have problems but we’re delighted that it’s been sorted.
“Crucially Cork also agreed to putting the semi-final back and thus there was no need for a meeting of the CCC of the Munster Council.
“There will be extra-time in the game on November 17th in the event of a draw with the final then down to take place on November 24th.”
