IRELAND’S CIAN O’CONNOR claimed a second win and a third-place finish at the Christmas show at London’s Olympia this evening.

In the even horse Santa Stakes jump-off, O’Connor comfortably beat his opponents while riding on Ahmed Tolba’s gelding Splendor, winning the 6,000 euro winner’s prize in the process.

Meanwhile, in the Christmas Tree Stakes, the Irish Olympic individual bronze medallist lost out by just over a second to the eventual winner, Britain’s Ben Maher, but had the consolation of 1,500 euro prize money.

O’Connor also secured just under 3,000 euro with over two seconds in hand at the finish in Thursday night’s feature class.

His next challenge comes on Saturday afternoon for the World Cup class at Olympia.
