TEMPERS FLARED IN the first half of Ireland Six Nations clash against England at Lansdowne Road.
Irish prop Cian Healy took exception to an English forward not rolling away and got stamping. He will almost certainly face the citing commissioner for this offence.
Speaking to RTÉ about the incident after the game, Irish coach Declan Kidney said, “I saw a lot of English bodies over the ball, a lot of times. I didn’t see anything.”
Disgraceful stuff from Healy. He won’t play for the rest of the 6 Nations and deserves it. If the English did it we’d be complaining about it. He could have played himself out of a starting place on the Lions team too cause of lack of game time.
He will definitely be gone for the Scottish game and probably should be gone for the rest of the competition but lets hope not. English player was in the wrong but Cian’s reaction was completely wrong.
It was deliberate, it was unsporting, it was short-sighted. He gained nothing from it, and the team will likely be down a player during the most important tournament of the season.
I think Healy is and will continue to be a very fine prop, but, brain fart is a very good description. Stupidity of the highest order. Stupid thing to do, just so stupid.
I would have thought Healy of all people would refrain from stamping after that Aussie stamped on his face. Just plain daft, and he’ll almost certainly be sidelined now – maybe for the whole tournament.
I don’t think it was that bad, the English players was stoping the ball with his foot, Murrary couldn’t get it out and Healy rucked the leg, it looks bad fair enough but he didn’t follow through just cleared the leg from the ball. Sexton’s face got stomped on last week and not a word.
It was a stupid and needless thing to do. Born out of pure frustration. He’s probably looking at 2 citings. One for stamping the other for striking. There’s a chance he’ll b kicking back for a bit…
His mistake was he done it from too far away.
Can Any rugby playing forward tell me if they were blocking the ball from the scrum half with their leg they wouldnot expect a couple of stud marks?

He’s head and shoulders the best lose head in the NH. His work rate and scrummaging is 2nd to none.
As much as that was a stamp and yellow card, Dan Cole seems to have evaded the fact he was killing the ball which is also a yellow. Anyone with half a brain can see from where Healy was standing this was purely a reaction to Cole slowing the ball.
Bring back rucking. This sport rife with professional fouls and is turning in to a farce.
Thankfully the stamp didn’t ruin the game, Cole was ok and carried on. Healy had a moment of madness and will no doubt have plenty of time to think of the consequence of his actions from his seat in the stand!

He must of overdosed on barroca(the high performance vitamin)
