IRELAND FLANKER CHRIS Henry says he was “terrified” after suffering a mini-stroke ahead of Ireland’s November International with South Africa last month.
The 30-year old underwent surgery last week to fix a small hole that was discovered in his heart.
“It’s been a rough few weeks, obviously,” Henry told the BBC.
“But it’s nice to be back in and around the environment with all the players and be back in the mix.
“When it happened, it was a very scary experience and I didn’t think I’d get back at all so, for me, it’s nice to be back so early and not pushing myself too hard.”
While Henry is back on the bike in the Ulster gym, he’s under strict instructions to take it easy for the moment.
“It was terrifying… but I had doctor with me within three minutes so if it happened anywhere else I would have been even more scared.
“I feel lucky to be back here. I was preparing for the worst at stages.”
