HOLDERS BAYERN MUNICH will face Real Madrid in a mouthwatering Champions League semi-final later this month.

Madrid — who are chasing la décima, their 10th European title — host Pep Guardiola’s side in the Santiago Bernabeu on 23 April with the return leg in Germany six days later.

“Our team are in a very good situation,” Bayern head scout Paul Breitner told UEFA.

We are on course for another treble and to become the first team to defend the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid face Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in the other semi on 22 and 30 April, stoking an ongoing wrangle of the availability of Thibaut Courtois.

The Belgian goalkeeper has been on loan in Madrid for the past three seasons and it was reported that Atletico would owe £2.5 million per game if he plays against his parent club.

A UEFA statement this morning insisted that any such clauses in the deal are ”null, void and unenforceable” in their eyes and warned that Chelsea could face sanctions if they try to stop Courtois.

The Champions League final will be played in Lisbon on 24 May.

In the Europa League semis, Sevilla play Valencia in an all-Spanish tie while Benfica host Juventus.
