Here's the video to get Cavan fans pumped this weekend

Also, one that definitely won’t.

CAVAN: RANK OUTSIDERS. Underdogs. Not Kerry.

Whatever.

After watching this video we’ve been swayed into thinking an upset is on the cards at Croke Park this weekend.

Unfortunately, there’s a counter-argument. And it is this, erm… accordion-based anthem composed for the big day out in Dublin.

Now, its heart is in the right place and the vocals are grand, but we just don’t get why it’s to the tune of Galway Girl… among other things.

Make. It. Stop.

What Irish sportspeople would you like to see playing for our AFL Europe side?

Jim Gavin on… slow starts, style, and the physicality of modern football

Great to see a new team at the top table, there will be many an honorary Cavan man from outside the Kingdom this weekend!

Great to see a football mad county getting its day in the sun , just shows with a clear strategy , no egos (seanie Johnson !! ) and investment in youth any county can get a good run in the championship

jesus Cavan are losing the run of themselves. In for an absolute hiding this weekend. An average team about to be found out

We are not losing the run of ourselves at all. We know exactly what our team is capable of. Cavan people love their football and have followed this team in good times and bad so please allow us our day in the sun!
Regardless of result it is fantastic to see “an average team” in the last 8 don’t you think Emmett?

best of luck to them and I would be delighted if they progressed but it would be an absolute shock. Looking at the teams that are left Cavan are by far the weakest and I doubt they would have beaten anyone other than London last round. Soft draw. Lots of better teams already out

And some of these better teams were put out by Cavan (Derrry, Armagh)!

Average Emmet don’t think so ..Cavan are a young team on the up ..three Ulster u21 in row..this young team fear noone play as a unit. .terry hyland knows these lads inside out …while this year was unexpected it was comin personally I think Cavan will be Ulster champs in couple years …investment in youth is now paying off …ur comment about us only beating London is unfair ..Cavan bear Armagh Derry femanagh twice and lost to Ulster champs by a point ..while most of country don’t give these lads credit ..we in Cavan know we hav a team comin through wit plenty of youth ..Tyrone done this …Cavan Abu
