The decision to fix the game for Friday June 28th in Dr Cullen Park has not been met with widespread approval.

THE GAA ANNOUNCED  yesterday that they will stage a senior inter-county championship game on a Friday night for a historic first time on June 28th.

The All-Ireland senior football first round qualifier between Carlow and Laois has been scheduled for Friday week in Dr Cullen Park with a 7.45pm throw-in time.

But the decision has not met with universal approval with several players from both sides unhappy with the decision
