JUVENTUS KEEPER GIANLUIGI Buffon is set to make his 500th Serie A appearance this evening when Juventus travel to face Genoa.
The 36-year-old will also wear a special captain’s armband to mark the occasion. He tweeted: ”Next match in black and white will be my 500th and to celebrate it I’ll wear this special captain’s armband.”
Buffon is still the most expensive goalkeeper in the world having completed a £38 million move from Parma to Juventus in 2001.
He is no stranger to breaking records as he currently holds the title of the most capped Italian of all time and is one of only three players to take part in five World Cups.
He has helped Juventus to seven league titles and this evening will hope to make it clean sheet number 238 (a record which he also holds) to help Juve maintain their position at the top of Serie A.
