LEINSTER ENJOYED NEAR total domination during their 40-7 win over Northampton Saints in Pool 1 of the Heineken Cup yesterday evening. Matt O’Connor’s men ran in six tries in total thanks to some impressive attacking play, with Luke Fitzgerald scoring a hat-trick.
There was one moment of genius that stood out at Franklin’s Gardens though and that was the sublime between-the-legs pass by centre Brian O’Driscoll. There was a similarity to his flick off the ground to Fergus McFadden for Ireland against Samoa last month, but this one was even more special. To send out this pass on the run, and to keep it so low, was nothing short of incredible.
O’Driscoll is still producing magic tricks at the age of 34.
The video above is far from the finest quality, so we will keep looking for a better version. However, BOD’s moment of spectacular skill deserves a watch right now.
