BRIAN O’DRISCOLL ADMITTED he decided to delay his retirement by a year to defeat the All Blacks and to win the Six Nations for a second time.
New Zealand denied the centre of his first goal but France could not prevent him from ending his Test career as a Six Nations champion.
In a classy move, the All Blacks paid tribute to O’Driscoll on their official Facebook page. Their post included a picture of O’Driscoll sitting in the same dressing room as the Six Nations trophy. It read, “What an Irish rugby legend does after playing his last Test match and winning his second Six Nations championship.”
All Blacks out-half Dan Carter was one of many players, past and present, to post their tributes to O’Driscoll.
