FOUR MEMBERS OF Cork’s 1999 All-Ireland final side have been named as senior football selectors for next season.
New manager Brian Cuthbert has finalised his backroom team with Ronan McCarthy, Ciaran O’Sullivan, Owen Sexton and Don Davis all set to be become selectors next year.
In 1999 the quartet were part of Larry Tompkins Cork side that fell short to Meath in the All-Ireland decider in Croke Park.
McCarthy lined out at right corner-back, O’Sullivan was right half-back, Sexton started at centre-back and Davis played at full-forward.
Douglas club man McCarthy was a selector alongside Cuthbert with ex-boss Conor Counihan for the 2013 campaign. He managed the Douglas team that reached the Cork county senior final in 2008.

Sexton was a member of the Cork senior football side from 1997 to 2008, and won an All-Ireland minor medal with Cork in 1993 on a team that was captained by Cuthbert. The Kilbrittain club man won a county senior football medal with divisional outfit Carbery in 2004.
O’Sullivan lined out for the Cork senior footballers from 1993 to 2005, winning an Allstar award in 1999. He won a county Senior Football medal with divisional team Beara in 1997 and is from the Urhan club.
Finally Davis featured for the Cork seniors from 1993 to 2000 and was part of the O’Donovan Rossa squad that won the All-Ireland club senior football title in 1993. His brother Tony won All-Ireland senior medals in 1989 and 1990.
