Bolt to run first 100m of the year

The reigning Olympic champion will fire off the blocks at the Jamaica International Invitational track and field meet at the National Stadium in Kingston on May 5

THE WORLD’S FASTEST man Usain Bolt will run his first 100m  race of the year at the Jamaica International Invitational track and field meet at the National Stadium in Kingston on May 5.

The 100m and 200m world record holder and 2008 Olympic champion, made his first appearance of the season for The Racers Track Club two Saturdays ago, where he ran the anchor leg in a 4x100m at the University of Technology Track and Field Classics and beat Asafa Powell to lead his team to time of 37.82sec.

The JN Jamaica International Invitational will likely also feature Yohan Blake and Powell.

Bolt will follow up his Kingston meet with other 100m runs in Ostrava, Rome and Oslo as he continues his preparation ahead of the London Olympics.
