Bloody mess: Watch Miguel Cabrera take a grounder to the face

The Detroit Tigers All-Star was taken to hospital with a fracture under his right eye after finding himself on the end of a wicked one-hopper.

MIGUEL CABRERA CAN count himself lucky that he didn’t lose an eye after catching a hard ground ball in the cheek yesterday.

The Detroit Tigers baseman, who was wearing sunglasses at the time, sustained a fracture to the orbital bone during the exhibition match with the Philadelphia Phillies and fortunately will only miss a week or two of action. It initially looked a lot worse as blood poured down his face, however.
