Blame it on the Bébé: Besiktas dump United star into reserves after late-night disco

The €9m Portugese striker has been warned that his loan spell in Turkey is not a vacation

MANCHESTER UNITED FORWARD Bebe has been banished to the Besiktas reserves after a late night out at a Turkish nightclub further blighted his loan spell.

The 21-year-old, signed by United for just over €9m in 2010, is on a season-long loan at Besiktas. He had just returned to first team action following six months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

However Tayfur Havutcu, his coach this season, was furious that the Portugese player stayed out until the early hours after a visit to a disco with teamates Sidnei and Julio Alves at the weekend.

The Daily Mail has reported that Bebe may not feature for the side again but Havutcu believes a reappearance for the loanee and his two partying teammates will depend on their performances in training. He commented:

This is not the place to vacation. Besiktas have rules and discipline which the players have to obey. It is not allowed, except in reasonable hours, to be inside nightclubs.

Havutcu added, “At this stage, it is not possible to say how long the penalty will last. It could be one week and then forgotten or the players could stay out of the squad until the end of the season.”

Flattering to deceive

The 21-year-old showed early signs of the promise that made Alex Ferguson splash out millions for his signature when he scored the third goal in a pre-season friendly against Salzburg.
