Big Bang blown away by Cuban Rigondeaux

Fight in Dublin ended in the first round as gulf in class immediately evident.

WILLIE ‘BIG BANG’ CASEY Willie Casey was stopped in the first round of his WBA super-bantamweight title bout by holder Guillermo Rigondeaux in Dublin last night.

Cuban Rigondeaux, a two-time Olympic gold medallist, had Casey in immediate trouble after a testing body shot. And it wasn’t to last much longer as two knockdowns followed before a halt was called after two minutes and 38 seconds of the opening round.

The Limerick man, 29, landed a shot at the WBA belt after winning the European title last November.
