DESPITE SAYING 432 times that he would only ever return to England to play with Manchester United, David Beckham is being heavily linked with moves to both Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers once his contract with LA Galaxy runs out.
The former England captain becomes a free agent in November and new QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has already tweeted that he fancies bringing him to Loftus Road.
“I think having someone like David in the club would be great. Was always in my thoughts. Lets see,” typed Fernandes.
Meanwhile, Hoops boss Neil Warnock has told the Daily Telegraph that he would be happy to see the former Galactico arrive at the club.
“About three weeks ago I would not have dreamed to sign Joey Barton so I will never write anything off,” he said.
“The chairman Tony Fernandes has got such [an opinion] – why accept the average when you can reach for the top? That is how he is.
“It came out of the blue. I think anything is possible. He is a very astute businessman.”
However, the sages at the Daily Mirror insist that Harry Redknapp will come back in for the 36-year-old and actually sign him this time. Beckham spent last winter training with Spurs but was prevented from completing a loan deal by his American paymasters.
