BATE BORISOV HAVE dabbled in the Champions League in the past but will get nowhere near Europe’s elite competition again if their goalkeeper keeps handing out pressies like the aberrations you will see below.
Germans Malins had a day to forget between the BATE sticks as they lost their opening Belarussian league match to Shakhtyor 2-0. Malins’ side were holding their own in the second half when he failed to deal with a looping cross under no pressure at all.
The Latvian goalkeeper was still coming to terms with his first howler, he made another. This one came in the 91st minute so he did not have too much time to dig a tunnel out of the ground before the final whistle blew. His teammates, in fairness to them, were very supportive of Malins at the final whistle.
