AND THEN THERE were four.

The situation has become clearer in the 2015 All-Ireland senior club hurling race.

Yesterday’s Galway county final result means we’re left with Gort being the Tribesmen representatives and they’ll take on Kilkenny’s Ballyhale Shamrocks next February. The other semi-final will be a battle between Limerick’s Kilmallock and Down’s Portaferry.

But who do you think will win it out now?

Ballyhale Shamrocks are the most experienced campaigners with the club having won five All-Ireland crowns with recent triumphs in 2007 and 2010. Gort have never won the title, losing their only final appearance back in 1984 after a replay to Ballyhale while more recently, they lost the 2012 semi-final to Offaly’s Coolderry.

Kilmallock have appeared in the All-Ireland series twice before, losing the 1993 final to Galway’s Sarsfields and the 1995 semi-final to Offaly’s Birr. Down’s Portaferry have never before emerged from Ulster to contest the All-Ireland senior hurling series.
