Back to reality: Bernard Brogan begins his accounting exams

The player immediately returned home to study following his side’s win on Sunday.

WHILE MOST DUBLIN players were celebrating on Sunday night, Berard Brogan was busy hitting the books in preparation for his accounting exams, which start today.

Jim Lalor in The Irish Sun reports that the star went home to study for his upcoming exams, having helped his side beat Donegal to reach the All-Ireland final.

Brogan, who was given the man of the match award after Sunday’s game, said:

“There won’t be any major celebrations out of me but we will lock it down, do a bit of homework because Kerry are Kerry. They have been there and done it all before. They have been in finals and know how to play them. It is our first one. None of our lads have played in one before and it is a huge day. It is just about who wants it more on the day so I am looking forward to it.”

Speaking about their hard-earned win over Donegal, Brogan praised the side’s mental toughness, as they recovered after making a slow start to the game, in addition to having a man sent off in the second half.

He echoed the thoughts of his brother Alan, saying that “three years ago we wouldn’t have won that game”.

Dublin will meet Kerry in the All-Ireland final on 18 September and it will be the side’s first final since winning the competition back in 1995.

In contrast, it will be Kerry’s ninth final since the Dubs’ success.

Jack O’Connor’s men are the clear favourites to win the game, with 61% of people tipping them to triumph in a recent Score.ie poll.
