THIS WEEK MARKS 20 years since the tragic death of Formula One driver Ayrton Senna, who was killed in an accident at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.

The Brazilian, who won three F1 world titles, will be remembered over five days of  tributes at the Imola track where the tragedy occurred, while football club Corinthians are planning to pay their respects in a novel way.

Players of the club, from Senna’s hometown Sao Paolo, will wear replicas of his famous yellow helmet when they walk out onto the pitch to face National AM at the Arena Amazonia tonight.

What a hero to the people of his country. His outlook and philosophies on life resonate. I still have the newspapers from that Monday after the crash.

Should make for an interesting game. They could struggle with visibility though.
