WAYNE ROONEY COULD link up with David Beckham as reports suggest Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the striker.

The Times of London reported today that the Qatari-financed club were looking at a figure of £40 million to buy Rooney from Manchester United.

The England international would be the latest big money transfer to PSG, who are assembling a collection of star names in the French capital, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Beckham.

Rooney has scored over 200 goals for United but has spent less time in the Old Trafford spotlight this season due to injury and the arrival of Robin van Persie. Although he missed the game at the weekend against QPR, United are confident he will be fit to face Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie next week.
