JUST ABOUT EVERYONE in America last night night was glued to cable news, awaiting confirmation of Osama bin Laden’s death from President Obama.

Everyone, that is, but the spectators at the Phillies-Mets game in Philadelphia.

As news of bin Laden’s apparent death spread across Twitter and through text messages, the entire stadium — in a goosebumps moment for the ages — began to chant “USA! USA!”

Meanwhile, the players on the field and in the dugouts looked around at each other quizzically, wondering what the heck the crazy Philly fans were up to now.

Video below — the chanting, which prompted ESPN’s first mention of the news, begins around 1:40 in the first video. Second vid has the cheers kicking up again, and the camera guys catching more of it this time.
