Stoke goalkeeper Begovic scores after 12 seconds from his own penalty area

THE FIRST GOAL of today’s 3pm Premier League games came after just 12 seconds… and was scored by a goalkeeper.

Stoke went a goal up against Southampton at the Britannia Stadium thanks to this incredible effort from Asmir Begovic:

Begovic is the fifth goalkeeper to score a goal in the Premier League, according to Opta Stats. The other four were: Peter Schmeichel, Tim Howard, Brad Friedel and Paul Robinson.

The game was ultimately a 1-1 draw however, thanks to this equaliser from Jay Rodriguez. Begovic will be less pleased with his contribution here:
