Reports in Chile that Arturo Vidal has 'verbal agreement' to join Man Utd

The Juventus midfielder has reportedly told those close to him he will respect The Old Lady’s final decision on any prospective switch.

JUVENTUS MIDFIELDER ARTURO VIDAL may have told Gazzetta dello Sport, late last week, he would not be going to Manchester but a newspaper in his homeland begs to differ.

Chilean broadsheet El Mercurio is reporting that the 27-year-old has a ‘verbal agreement’ to join Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United. Citing an unnamed source close to the player, the paper reports Vidal is hoping Juve will open the way for him to move to the Premier League for a fee in the region of €80m.

The source is quoted as saying, “Vidal wants to leave, and he’s told his agent this. They’ve even already made a verbal agreement with Manchester [United]. However, Arturo is very respectful towards Juve, grateful for what they’ve given him and will accept their final decision.”

On Monday, Vidal underwent a medical in Turin. Gazzetta now believes that medical was for United’s benefit.

Vidal scored 18 goals in 46 appearances for Juventus last season. His agent, Fernando Feliecivich, is due in Italy this week for a meeting with the Italians.

The latest from Vidal’s club coach, Massimiliano Allegri, suggests the saga will not be tied up any time soon. He commented, “Vidal will stay, he’s very happy to stay here just like everyone else. They want to win their fourth Scudetto in a row.”
