AS THE GRAPHIC below reveals, somewhat incredibly, Arsenal havenโt lost in the Premier League when Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker have played 90 minutes together in two years.
However, the stat does not include games such as the clubโs loss to Man City on 14 December, when the two started together but Koscielny had to leave the field through injury.
Still, irrespective of the 90-minute caveat, itโs an impressive stat that illustrates just how integral the defensive duo have been to the recent success of Arsene Wengerโs side.

Some stat
Per has really developed into a solid defender. Didnโt think heโd make it when he first came to England.
Unbelievable. 2 seasons & part of last season, they & Szczesny were a laughing stock. Now most fantasy league managers are all over the them; the ultimate tribute to a player (:-)
I hope somebody tells that stat to John Giles โ heโs always on their case.
Koscielny was taken off a few minutes before the end of the City game they lost 6-3 which kind of detracts from the statisticโs impressiveness
Koscielny went off injured in the first half against city
โArsenal havenโt lost a full gameโฆ.โฆโ. Are there other types of games they have lost?
Yup, as it says in the piece, they lost against Man City, when they didnโt play a full game together (Koscielny had to go off injured halfway through).
They havenโt list a game that in which pat Jennings and bergkamp played together ever
Hopefully this will be passed on to useless uninformed pundits who still think Mertesacker is a poor defender.
