ANTHONY PILKINGTONโS FUTURE at Norwich City is up in the air.
Caretaker boss Neil Adams was appointed on a permanent basis yesterday and that could usher Pilkington towards the door.
The injury-hit midfielder made just 15 league appearances last season as Norwich were relegated to the Championship.
The Canaries took up the option to extend his contract until the summer of 2015 but there are still question marks over his future at Carrow Road.
โ[Adams] came in towards the end of last season and I wasnโt really in his plans,โ Pilkington said after Irelandโs training session in Malahide this morning.
โIโm just concentrating on playing for Ireland, hopefully playing well and get some games in and then see what happens when I get back over there.
โI wasnโt really in the managerโs plans towards the end of the season so Iโll have to wait and see.โ
Pilkington sat out the Premier League run-in with a hip injury but now the winger hopes to see plenty of action in Irelandโs four end-of-season friendlies, starting with Sundayโs game against Turkey.
โEvery game is a shop window and you want to do your best in every game that you play in. Iโm happy to be over here and back playing and hopefully I can get some game time.
โI havenโt played for a long time so obviously my match fitness and my match sharpness wonโt be as good as they could be but hopefully I can use these games to get it back again.โ
That photo is great
@Joe OโDoherty: love your profile pic
We know which one is Hallgrimsson, no need to draw a big red circle around his face.
Talk is over. Do it on the pitch!
@Simon Dwyer: Youโve got to admire them though. Havenโt produced a decent performance in forever and still feeling positive!
I miss the 90s and early 2000โฒs back then i was so excited about games now its a struggle to look forward to games
Ah I know things are not great at the moment but Iโm sure our players donโt go out to lose and best of luck to Nathan and the.rest of the lads
I fear if we donโt get a point in this group of games we wonโt in the rest
@Leighton Cullen: Have to agree with you there. I know itโs arguably the worst metric to gauge it on but if Finland lost 3-0 to Greece and we lost 2-0โฆ surely this is our best chance of scoring a goal let alone bagging a point or three!? Helsinki not the easiest place to go granted, but itโs now or never in this relegation battle.
Shows how far weโve slipped down the ladder when Finland have struggled to barely sell 15k tickets for tonight, but the England game sold out in minutes. Hard to disagree with the Finnish public.
Another lost
@Alan Moloney: Most likely
