HAVING WATCHED HIS side win the opening 13 matches of his tenure last season, Ulster coach Mark Anscombe was less than impressed after last night’s 15-8 loss away to the Dragons.
It is Anscombe’s first defeat in Wales after winning all four games in the principality last season. And it’s a result that was all the more surprising given that the sides finished last season in second and second last place respectively.
“The fact is we were lackadaisical, we weren’t smart,” the Kiwi said post-match at Rodney Parade.
“We had 10 or 11 internationals. You expect people of that calibre to make better decisions and understand how to wear a team down.”
