Did Andy Murray really only spend $6 at his US Open celebration party last night?

You’ve just won your first Grand Slam title and ended a 76-year winless streak for British men. How do you celebrate?

HE HAD JUST pocketed a cool $1.9 million and won the first Grand Slam title of his career — but it seems Andy Murray only had a $6 soda to celebrate his historic US Open success last night.

After holding off Novak Djokovic in a nailbiting five-set thriller, Murray and his entourage hit midtown Manhattan for their victory party at plush Chinese restaurant Hakkasan.

Between them the party racked up a $6,500 bar tab, according to London Evening Standard reporter Joy Lo Dico on Twitter.

Murray’s share? $6 for a single lemon soda — although after a marathon final which lasted almost five hours, all the Scot probably wanted was just to go to bed.

With prices like that for a soft drink, it’s easy to see how Team Murray could’ve dropped a wedge as they celebrated. Wonder if Andy picked up the bill for the other $6,494 as well?
