Pastures new: Andrew Conway to leave Leinster for Munster

The youngster, who made his debut at 19, appears set to depart the province.

LEINSTER STAR ANDREW Conway is set to leave the province to join Munster on a two-year contract, it has today been announced.

The former Blackrock College schoolboy made his debut with Leinster as a 19-year-old in February 2010 against Scarlets, and has racked up a number of appearances for the province ever since, including featuring ten times this season.

The news is likely to be regarded as a further blow for Leinster, who are already reeling from the announcement that Jonny Sexton will be leaving the province at the end of the season.

Excellent signing. He was a revelation at the JWRC. If we can keep him fit I think we got a gem. If these are the kind of signings Penney will make I’m a happy camper….

Cian it’s even bigger than that,
Sexton gone, bod and darcy almost finished, Cullen over the hill already, no other secondrow of worth.
By my thinking we need to sign 2 centres, a wing, a 10 and 2 secondrows. Lucky I got a photo with the Heineken cup because it will be a long time until that yoke will sets foot on the emerald isle again.

Cian really, if you think what penny is building is something big well I’ve watched Munster over the last 3 weeks and if that’s big you must live in a one bedroom bungalow, as for ulster they’ve won nothing and will win nothing and Leinster will go belly up as they need 5 players they won’t sign

From small acorns….. Ok, maybe Leinster might b short staffed. But with McCarthy arriving you have more than replaced Cullen. Roux will b back. Your pack will b stronger. Scrum better. McF gets time at centre where he belongs. Madigan plays 10 where he belongs. The year after next u will b strong again….

Good player, been blighted with injury.

Hadn’t developed in the way Gilroy or Zebo has, not going to get into Leinsters side on a regular basis.

With Howlett on his way back home Munster need a replacement

Being brought in as a fullback option then a wing don’t think Hurley is cutting it this year really.

It used to be a case where Munster players who couldn’t get a game @ Munster went to Leinster, oh how the tables have turned. It’s a compliment to Leinsters academy that players of Conways potential cant get a regular game and have to go to Munster to get a game. He will play in Munster for two years and come home when Isa retires. Good luck to him.

A bit like Leinsters inability to home grow locks and back rows. Munster have them coming out their ears. More of this inter pro movement can only b a good thing for Ireland….

I dont know what to make of this , I really do not think Munster are stuck for players , the likes of Luke O Dea are showing promise but just need time , and there is always lads coming through the acadamy , Conway will find it hard to get hc game time and even harder to win over the fans , there is already two fan favourites on both wings

gotta give him a chance at the very least, he’s more likely to get regular game time, even if its only a few rabo games

He ll be given a chance no doubt , but it ll be hard for him in munster i think , he is always gonna be in Zebos shadow , and thats not the best place to be if your a young player trying to get first team preferences

Indeed tough days for Leinster but everyone encounters those. So the solution is to get over it. The genuine Leinster fans will as always back their team to the hilt. The rest will will jump like rats from a burning ship. They will be no loss. I know plenty Leinster fans and like all sports people they are as sound as they come. Competion is good fun.As for last night it’s best forgotten, Coughlan some man,Cheers

Why is there no national anthems for this match?
