BELOW YOU’LL SEE the brutal injury that gave Chris Weidman victory in his UFC 168 title bout with Anderson Silva in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Brazilian broke his leg during the second round of their Middleweight Championship fight which meant Weidman won on a technical knock out.
The American had been dominating the fight in the first round, nearly knocking Silva out with a powerful right hand before the freak injury occurred just over a minute into round two.
As soon as his opponent’s leg snapped, Weidman backed off and referee Herb Dean stepped in to stop the fight. Silva was treated in the octagon before being removed on a stretcher with a splint on his left leg.
