In today’s big game, Kilkenny have formed a guard of honour for the All-Ireland champions:

Kilkenny GAA Kilkenny GAA

Clare 0-2 – Kilkenny 0-0: Clare are first on the board, first with Conor Ryan pointing from play and with a free.

Clare 0-3 – Kilkenny 0-0: Another Ryan free makes it three points to no score.

Offaly 0-0 – Laois 0-3: An early lead of Laois where Ciaran Collier, Cha Dwyer and Tommy Fitz have scored.

Clare 0-3 – Kilkenny 0-3: There’s been a few handbags in the opening stages of this one but Henry Shefflin frees and Walter Walsh point has drawn Kilkenny level.

Galway 0-6 – Dublin 0-3: Cathal Mannion, Conor Cooney and Paul Ryan have been among the scorers in the other Division 1A game where Galway lead by double scores.

Clare 1-3 – Kilkenny 0-4: The Cats took a brief lead here but the All-Ireland champions have fought back with a Colin Ryan goal. Not quite sure how his shot found its way into the Kilkenny net mind.

Antrim 0-2 – Wexford 0-1: A low scoring affair in this Division 1B clash in Ballycastle after 12 minutes.

Galway 0-7 – Dublin 0-4: Paul Ryan points again for Dublin as they reduce their hosts’ lead to three points.

Clare 1-6 – Kilkenny 0-5: Henry Shefflin’s place striking has kept Kilkenny in this game but Clare still lead by four.

Offaly 0-2 – Laois 0-4: Brian Carroll has halved Laois’ lead in Tullamore.

Offaly 0-3 – Laois 1-5: And just as the Faithful County looked to be getting back into this, Laois’ Stephen Maher has scored a goal from a 21m free.

Galway 0-12 – Dublin 0-4: All six Galway forwards have scored now as the Tribesmen lead by triple scores.

Clare 1-8 – Kilkenny 0-8: Henry Shefflin puts a 21m free over the bar to bring Kilkenny back within a goal of their hosts.

Galway 0-14  - Dublin 0-4: Another Conor Cooney point (his fourth) and Galway lead by 10 in Salthill.

Antrim 0-4 – Wexford 0-3: Not much to report from a sunny Ballycastle but the hosts have the narrowest of leads after 25 minutes.

Clare 1-8 – Kilkenny 0-9: Outstanding goalkeeping from Tuohy for Clare but Kilkenny will wonder just how they didn’t find the back of the net on the rebound when it looked easier for Walsh to score than not.

Half-time scores from some of the other games:

Division 2A

Derry 2-1 – Kerry 3-12

Carlow 0-8 – Kildare 0-5

Division 2B

Mayo 2-13 – Fingal 3-9 (FT)

Wicklow 1-7 – Meath 0-4

Down 1-6 – Armagh 1-4

Division 3A

Donegal 2-10 – Fermanagh 0-5

Monaghan 1-6 – Longford 1-4

Louth 1-10 – Roscommon 0-7

With all the games now at half-time or beyond, time of reflect on some of today’s bigger talking points.

Firstly, what’s happening in Salthill? I know the season is in its infancy but I don’t think anyone saw Galway being that far ahead of Dublin.

Secondly, that Kilkenny goal miss. You’d have to wonder — as almost everyone on my Twitter feed did — if Kilkenny would have scored if they were a county that raised footballers too.

And the second halves are under way.

Offaly 0-8 – Laois 1-10: Joe Bergin’s seventh free of the game. Laois also missed a penalty but Stephen Maher but the rebound over the bar.

Clare 1-9 – Kilkenny 0-11: Clare get their first point of the second half and the game continues to be punctuated with handbags from both sides.

Galway 0-20 – Dublin 0-7: Dublin went 22 minutes without a score in the first half and Galway should cruise home from here.

RED CARD: Conal Keaney gets his second yellow of the game and Dublin’s day goes from bad to worse.

Clare 1-10 – Kilkenny 0-13: Penalty from Henry Shefflin but he fail to find the back of the net and Kilkenny have to settle for a 65 which he sends wide. Not his finest hour.

Antrim 0-6 – Wexford 0-5: 14 man Wexford remain a point behind their hosts after Richie Kehoe was shown the line towards the end of the first half.

Clare 1-12 – Kilkenny 0-13: Colin Ryan puts two between the sides again after turning down a goal attempt from a 20m free. 19 minutes left in Ennis.

Laois 1-14 – Offaly 0-11: Conor Doughan and Cha Dwyer exchange points. Laois still lead by six.

Clare 1-13 – Kilkenny 0-16: Two scores from Henry Shefflin and we’re level again in Division 1A.

Wexford 0-9 – Antrim 0-7: Midway through the second half and Wexford have grabbed a two point lead despite being a man down.

Galway 0-28 – Dublin 1-10: This is getting out of hand as the Tribesmen close in on 30 points and a goal for Seanie McGrath isn’t doing much to lift the travelling Dublin supporters’ spirits.

Clare 1-15 Kilkenny 0-17: Two points on the spin and the hosts are leading by a point with six minutes left.

Laois 1-17 – Offaly 1-14:  Glimmer of hope for Offaly after Dan Currams  finds the net. Three minutes left.

Laois 1-19 – Offaly 2-14Some effort by the Faithful County in the latter stages here as Joe Bergin’s free is blocked but Dermot Mooney finds the net on the rebound.

Clare 1-16 Kilkenny 0-18: Brilliant stuff in Ennis as there’s just a point between the teams now. We’re in injury time now.

FT: Clare 1-16 Kilkenny 0-18: It’s all over in Ennis and Clare have beaten Kilkenny.

Wexford 0-15 – Antrim 1-11: Antrim looked dead and buried in this but a goal has seen them just a point behind with two minutes to go.

And that’s it from us, we’re just getting our breath back after that.

We’ll have reports on the both Division 1A games up soon as well as a round up of today’s other games.

As usual, thanks for joining us.
