AN ERRANT KICK-out from Paul Durcan was ruthlessly punished by Kieran Donaghy as Kerry beat Donegal to take their first All-Ireland title since 2009 .
We won’t know who has won the official Man of the Match award until tonight’s The Sunday Game but we’d like your thoughts on who you felt played best on the day.
The game was low on quality for long spells but there were still a few performers who stood out. Here our nominees but feel free to leave your own in the comments below.
At least you’ve good sport to watch next weekend. Today Kerry won by default. All the guys on both today’s teams would be better employed doing something else.
It was beyond childish, reminded me of dougal kicking a random lad on the ground at a priests sports day! if I was related to him I’d be embarrassed tonight
Im sorry but this jim mcguinness is a genius is absolute nonsense. Sending a team out to play that type of football is disgraceful. Genius managers like Micko, heffo and Cody sent teams out to dazzle, to play the game in the right way. His style of cr*p football makes me wanna puke
Noone will ever top Micko. Period.
However, McGuiness has found a way to beat better teams than his. Can’t blame him for that. I hate Donegal football, but I’d rather see my county win playing puke football, than lose consistently year after year.
System been found out? They have lost 1 game and I doubt too many teams would be able to stop there system in fairness!
I do wonder if Donegal opened up, put Murphy at full forward in the second half, would the result have been different? Some outstanding players and have great ability but their unwillingness to abandon their system today may have cost them.
Glad to see Kerry win though, at least they will generally play football and not just odds and statistics!
The flaw in their system was obvious in the first and last 10 minutes, take your goal chances, keep a lead instead of being worried about extending it and they don’t have a plan b.
Thank god we have a hurling final to look forward to next week! If the GAA year ended with that muck match it’d be a downer on a decent year of action.
Thought O’Donaghue is a contender for man of the match. Although he didn’t score his distribution was top class. As for donaghy- he scored one great point. His goal was a gift and his other point was fortunate as it was from a rebound from the post. He was relatively quiet in the first half. Geaney was having a better game until at the time he was subbed off. Although I suppose being in the right place at the right time is a skill in itself.

The referee. For blowing the final whistle and putting an end to that shite.
That shite has Kerry inscribed on Sam again!
There was no Man of the Match. Worst AI final ever.
What Barry John Keane did at the end was disgraceful, and I thought the ref was very inconsistent but what do I know I’m from tipp
At least you’ve good sport to watch next weekend. Today Kerry won by default. All the guys on both today’s teams would be better employed doing something else.
Ah here… it was unsportsmanlike but it was hardly disgraceful!!
I was both
It was completely disgraceful
Ah would Ya stop it goes on the whole time. Some disgrace alright helping your team to win an All-Ireland.
What happened – I didn’t see the last few minutes!
Don’t took me. You dozed off with boredom!
It was beyond childish, reminded me of dougal kicking a random lad on the ground at a priests sports day! if I was related to him I’d be embarrassed tonight
How about no one. It was a terrible match
Give it to Gooch
Im sorry but this jim mcguinness is a genius is absolute nonsense. Sending a team out to play that type of football is disgraceful. Genius managers like Micko, heffo and Cody sent teams out to dazzle, to play the game in the right way. His style of cr*p football makes me wanna puke

However, McGuiness has found a way to beat better teams than his. Can’t blame him for that. I hate Donegal football, but I’d rather see my county win playing puke football, than lose consistently year after year.
I’d still rather watch hurling anyway.
No he hasn’t. Two things,
Donegal have brilliant footballers & his system has been found out.
What about Kerry playing the same blanket defence as Donegal and no talk bout it
System been found out? They have lost 1 game and I doubt too many teams would be able to stop there system in fairness!
I do wonder if Donegal opened up, put Murphy at full forward in the second half, would the result have been different? Some outstanding players and have great ability but their unwillingness to abandon their system today may have cost them.

Thank god we have a hurling final to look forward to next week! If the GAA year ended with that muck match it’d be a downer on a decent year of action.
Aidan Mahony did not even get nominated baffling!!
Paul Murphy?
Eamon fifzmaurice
The Ulster teams have ruined football with their cavemen, negative defensive tactics. Almost everyone will imitate that now.
Peter Crowley without any question was the best player on the field
Defo
Though peter Crowley had a good game, nobody else stood out, very poor game for the neutral to watch
Paul durkin for that kick out made the difference or whoever marked o’donoghoe because he was very quiet
