FA take no action against Sergio Aguero after 2-footed stamp on David Luiz

The Man City striker will not be banned for his moment of madness yesterday.

THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION will take no action against Sergio Aguero for his two-footed lunge on David Luiz in yesterday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Referee Chris Foy awarded a free-kick at the time and did not even book Aguero, but has been deemed to have already dealt with the incident sufficiently by the FA. The Argentine was apparently riled at receiving an elbow to the ribs from Luiz moments earlier, and lunged in two-footed as the Brazilian lay prone on the floor following a tussle for possession.

After the match Luiz called on his opponent to apologise, saying: “Aguero’s a great player, he needs to be honest with himself and say, ‘I don’t like to do bad tackles’. It was five seconds of anger and I forgive him.”

Aguero had earlier doubled Manchester City’s lead after Samir Nasri’s first-half opener, but Demba Ba set up a grandstand finish by pulling one back after the break. City held on, however, and will face Wigan in the FA Cup final after they overcame Millwall on Saturday.

Some crazy decisions over the weekend alright! POC and Aguero in the same boat though Aguero didn’t knock anyone out at least…..though he’s not from Ireland so won’t get defended the same way!

What did I say about O’Connell? It’s a completely different situation anyway!! O’Connell’s kick to Kearney was an unfortunate accident. But Rugby is a physical game and people occasionally get hurt, call it a byproduct.
Soccer is a less physical game, but two footed challenges are illegal, fly hacking a ball on the ground is not illegal in rugby, see the difference? Muppet.

And to clarify, you’ve been saying a lot about O’Connell all day on other articles protecting his moment of lunacy. Hence my initial response!

I tweeted it as a joke. Didn’t post it here. I commented on the women in F1 story, nothing more. Ah it’s only a tenet, could be worse

if that was someone like Suarez or Barton or someone like that either would be facing a 5 game ban I’d say, same with O’ Conell if it were anyone else with a bit of form for that sort of thing they would be banned
