Aaron Lennon signs new contract at Tottenham

The 25-year-old England winger has penned a deal that will take him up to 2016.

AARON LENNON HAS signed a new four-year contract with Tottenham, extending his stay at White Hart Lane until 2016.

The 25-year-old arrived at Spurs in July 2005 from Leeds United and has since made 270 first team appearances in his seven years with the club.

“We are delighted to announce that Aaron Lennon has signed a new contract until 2016,” a statement on Tottenham’s official website read.

The England winger has scored 25 goals and provided 42 assists during his time in north London.

Lennon’s extension comes as more good news for fans of the North London club, who saw Clint Dempsey and Hugo Lloris complete moves to the club as the summer transfer window closed on Friday evening.

However, a move for Joao Moutinho – the Porto midfielder – failed to come off as personal terms could not be agreed with the player.
