‘LIMERICK IS NOT a bad place but it has got bad people; not bad people, they’re just ruined people.’
That is how the trailer for the new Setanta series, “A Sporting Chance”, begins. The three-part documentary follows a group of Limerick youths who have dropped out of school and shows their progress as they prepare to compete in an international tag tournament.
They are coached by former Leinster and Munster player Liam Toland and former Ireland international Rosie Foley and they also take part in a life skills course in an effort to boost their confidence and enhance their future job prospects.
It looks like an interesting Irish version of Sky Sports’ “School of Hard Knocks” with Toland and Foley in the roles of Will Greenwood and Scott Quinnell.
