85% of Irish fans happy with O'Neill/Keane appointment

Meanwhile 31.2% of fans say they’ve forgiven the Man United legend for Saipan.

THE MAJORITY OF Ireland fans are satisfied with the appointment of Martin O’Neill as manager and Roy Keane as his assistant, according to a poll conducted by Pembroke Communications.
85.4% of the 342 fans who responded to the poll said they were pleased with the FAI’s decision, however, only 52.9% of fans don’t think O’Neill and Keane will clash, while 59.1% can’t see John Delaney and Keane getting on together.

In addition, 31.2% forgive Keane for Saipan while 44.7% suggest it wasn’t his fault.

The feel-good factor surrounding the appointment is also reflected in the survey, with 88.2% suggesting Ireland are a better team under the new management.

Finally, 74.9% of fans say they are more interested in the team following the appointment of O’Neill and Keane, and 81.3% have backed the Boys in Green to qualify for Euro 2016.
