1. Michu to Arsenal
The Spanish striker turned out to be the bargain of the season when he arrived for a snip at €1.5m in the summer of 2012. The 22 goals he scored in his debut campaign have been added to with another six so far this term but Michu, who made his debut for Spain in October, has admitted he would be open to move to a top club.
Arsenal’s lack of striking options is well-publicised and the 27-year-old would seem to be a perfect fit for the Gunners.
2. Koke to Manchester United
It is clear that Manchester United failed to adequately recruit over the summer with only Marouane Fellaini, who has had a difficult start, arriving from David Moyes’ old club Everton.
Araft of names have been mentioned as possible January targets and while reports suggest they will be back in for Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera, another Spaniard could be better suited.
21-year-old Koke has been been in excellent form for Atletico Madrid who are second in La Liga and through to the last 16 of the Champions League. He is believed to have a buyout clause of €20m but says he is happy at the club and is unlikely to depart mid-season.
3. Fredy Guarin to Chelsea
Colombia international Fredy Guarin is reportedly close to a move to the Premier League with Chelsea chasing the versatile midfielder who can play in a number of positions.
Jose Mourinho has said he will not add any strikers in January but hopes to bring in the former Porto player as competition for Ramires and Frank Lampard.
A fee of around £15m should be enough to persuade Inter Milan to let him go.
4. Javier Pastore to Liverpool
Big things were expected of Argentine schemer Javier Pastore when he arrived at Paris Saint-Germain from Palermo for €40m in the summer of 2011. However, with a host of other high profile arrivals from Serie A including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edison Cavani and Ezquiel Lavezzi, he has fallen out of favour in the French capital.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly interested and he would be a considerable coup if the Reds could get him on loan as he would definitely add another dimension to Brendan Rodger’s attack.
5. Giuseppi Rossi to Spurs
Italian striker Giuseppi Rossi has put a couple of serious knee injuries which saw him sidelined for two years behind him since joining Fiorentina from Villarreal this season. The former Manchester United forward has stormed to the top of the goalscorer charts in Serie A with 13 so far for the Viola including a hat-trick against current champions Juventus.
Spurs’ record signing Roberto Soldado wasn’t at his best in AVB’s system and Rossi would be a fine strikepartner for the Spaniard.
