5 great goals you may have missed last night

Chances are you may have been distracted by events in the Aviva last night. Don’t worry, here’s the best of the rest from the other international games.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal 6-2 Bosnia)

IT JUST WOULDN’T be a night of international football without a CR7 free-kick. This one got the ball rolling in Lisbon as Portugal secured the final spot at Euro 2012.

Nani (Portugal 6-2 Bosnia)

Anything C-Ron can do, his former Manchester United team-mate Nani can do better. The midfielder’s thunderbolt from 30+ yards was quite simply unstoppable.

Mesut Ozil (Germany 3-0 Netherlands)

The ease with which Germany carved Holland open last night was a joy to behold. With the Dutch defence at sixes and sevens, it only took four clinical passes for Germany to pick their way through, allowing Ozil to roll the ball into an empty net.

Joel Campbell (Costa Rica 2-2 Spain)

Iker Casillas didn’t have his best night at the office for Spain, but Arsenal fans will have been thrilled to see Joel Campbell get on the scoresheet with this well-placed curler.

Edson Buddle (Slovenia 2-3 USA)

Never mind the fog — Buddle took one touch to set himself and another to crack this 25-yarder off the inside of Samir Handanovic’s post.
